Hi- Im a little embarrassed by this. Myself and my family usually struggle in silence but this time we really are crying for help.
My mother lost her mother on Christmas Eve and my sister and myself lost our grandmother the same day. Grandma was sick, and unfortunately died. Before she left us, a couple years ago she gave my uncle some money to help us with the funeral. He also promised her that he would help with any extra expenses.
Now that she has died, and the time has come, the money that she gave me uncle does not cover all of her funeral expenses. The cheapest funeral we are able to arrange, costs us $14,355. The money given to my uncle by my grandmother, is only enough to cover a little more than half (7,600).
My mothers just retired and doesn’t have much due to coming in the country and working as an home attendant. She will be giving her last as well as I. Our extended family also is not helping with finances.
Together with what my grandmother left, we are missing about 4,535. I get paid the week of the funeral and can give more, but I’m literally giving my all and last. We are asking for any and all help, as this a a big financial strain for my family. We truly appreciate anything given. Without the money, I’m not sure if we’ll be able to bury my grandmother.
the funds from here will cover things like, the funeral service location, cosmetics (define the features), travel to the home to the cemetery (in Jersey because this is the cheapest cemetery), part of the cemetery fee, and her wreath of flowers to go on top of the casket in her grave.
