Our grandfather passed away suddenly this morning 12/30/2024 at 5:37am, after a long hard fight in the hospital. He was rushed to the emergency room by ambulance the day before Thanksgiving, Little did we know he was suffering from pneumonia, bronchitis, the flu, & sepsis. This resulted in complete respiratory failure. Shortly after arriving to the hospital he was put on a ventilator due to complete coding for 10 days. He fought hard to overcome major damage caused by the ventilator itself as well as the other various illnesses. He started to recover & was just about to be moved to a rehabilitation center to regain his strength & the pneumonia struck again. His body & lungs just could not handle it this time and within 24 he couldn’t fight any longer. Our Grandpap served in the Unites States Air Force & his wish is to be buried in the Houston Veterans National Cemetery. The VA does cover a portion of the costs but there are quite a few things that are not covered & will need to be paid for up front. As this was very unexpected due to how much he had progressed & how quickly he passed after getting pneumonia this time. We are hoping to help raise funds for his funeral costs to help ease the burden on our mom as this is the most difficult time for her. He lived with her and us grandkids for the last 18 years. He was truly her best friend and helped all of us over the years. He was an amazing generous man that did anything and everything he could for all of us.
