Early Christmas Eve, I received the heart-wrenching news that our dear friend Kevin L. Harris had tragically passed away on his way to work. My heart aches with gratitude that he managed to pull over safely, yet it shatters knowing that he couldn’t receive timely medical help. At just 59, he had a lifetime of moments still left to create. Though the currents of life have pulled us apart over the years, Kevin will always hold a sacred place in my heart as one of my closest and most cherished friends.
My heart is shaken to its very core, yet amidst the pain, this tragedy has ignited a profound clarity in all of us about the fleeting nature of life and the absolute necessity of treasuring our friendships and expressing our love frequently. We may be grown now, navigating the complexities of adulthood, but my love for Kevin endures eternally. Rest in peace, dear Kevin. You will forever dance in my dreams and linger in my thoughts, reminding me of the indelible mark you’ve left in my heart.
